Founded by Mriga Kapadiya and Armit Kumar, NorBlack NorWhite is a vibrant sportswear brand that incorporates Indian textiles with athletic cuts. They have collaborated with brands such as Fila, in which they added their own colorful twist to the popular brand by adding rainbow colors to their iconic logo, and diamenté studs to the famous Disruptor shoe. The name, NorBlack NorWhite stems from the idea of exploring the grey space of culture - not only clothes, and their vibrant use of colors, patterns, and textiles.
Both Miriga and Amrit were raised in Toronto, and moved to Bombay in 2010 to explore their Indian roots. Through their travels, they learned about different processes to develop textiles, such as Bandhani (tie-dye), and they vowed to use these old crafts in their brand. They are based in Delhi, India and has evolved into a beautiful brand that prioritizes women and independent POC voices.
